Basic Knowledge of Safe Forklift Operation

Do you operate a forklift, or will you be working with one? This e-learning course teaches you the theoretical basics of operating a forklift safely and responsibly. The knowledge gained during the course prepares you for the practical training.

Who is this e-learning course for?

This course is intended for employees who operate a forklift or want to prepare for working with one.

What will you learn?

The theory is structured logically and relates directly to practical workplace situations. Topics include:

• Safety rules and responsibilities
• Recognising risks and preventing accidents
• Daily forklift checks and inspections
• Stability, centre of gravity and lifting capacity
• Safe driving, manoeuvring and parking
• Safely picking up, moving and placing loads
• Working with pallets, racking systems and loading docks
• Responding to malfunctions and emergencies

Practical training and certification

After successfully completing this e-learning course, you will have the theoretical knowledge required to operate a forklift safely. However, completing the e-learning course alone is not sufficient to obtain a forklift certificate.

To obtain a forklift certificate, you must also successfully complete the practical training and practical examination. During the practical assessment, your ability to inspect, operate and use the forklift safely will be evaluated.

The practical training can be completed in Emmeloord, Voorhout or as on-site training at your company’s location. You can also register for the practical training after completing the online course. To book your practical training, send an email to mail@cursus95.nl.

Are you already registered for the practical training? You do not need to take any further action. Your existing registration remains valid.

A forklift certificate can only be issued after both the theory and practical components have been successfully completed.

Certification and legal requirements

Employers must ensure that employees receive sufficient instruction to work safely with workplace equipment. Combined with the practical training, this e-learning course provides a solid basis for demonstrable competence and safe forklift operation.
